The U.S. Embassy in Tokyo cautions U.S. citizens that Typhoon Cimaron (Typhoon Number 20) is expected to make landfall near Shikoku the afternoon of August 23, 2018, and then move on to affect other areas of western Japan, including the Kinki, Chugoku, Tokai, and Hokuriku regions. It is then anticipated to arrive in the Tohoku and Hokkaido regions on August 25, 2018. In conjunction with this storm, the Japan Meteorological Agency may issue a High Wave and Thunderstorm advisory for the affected areas. Expect extremely high winds, dangerous storm tides, heavy rainfall, and possible flooding to occur.
