U.S. and Japan
Statement by Ambassador Emanuel on Funding for U.S. Participation in Osaka Expo 2025
Osaka Expo 2025: Here we come! The U.S. Congress approved, and President Biden signed, the 2023 Consolidated Appropriations Act, which includes $25 million to support the U.S. pavilion — the first appropriation of its type.
This important demonstration of U.S. engagement in the Indo-Pacific region would not have been possible without Congressional support and, specifically, the leadership of Chair of the House Appropriations Committee Rosa DeLauro.
Through this budget, Congress has ensured U.S. participation in Expo 2025 will be commensurate with our commitment to the region and support for Japan during its host year.
We look forward to showcasing the best of the USA at the future U.S. pavilion in Osaka.
