Ambassador Bill Hagerty attended the Cyber3 Conference at Keio University on October 5, speaking about the need for cyber-tech cooperation among industry, government, academia, and civil society.
The world of IT is evolving rapidly. Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), digital currencies, and connected vehicles are helping solve basic human problems while giving rise to new industries. These emerging technologies are already being put to use in fields ranging from aging societies to the sharing economy and smart cities, helping transform numerous existing social systems.
This year’s Cyber3 Conference was hosted by Keio University’s International Cyber Security Center of Excellence, with the theme of “2020 and Beyond.” Participants discussed what should be done now to reap the benefits and address the challenge of cybersecurity in the next decade.
