Ambassador Bill Hagerty hosted a reception in honor of Mr. Takuma Sato, the first-ever Japanese Indy500 winner. With over 300 guests from the business, technology, and sports communities, Ambassador Hagerty celebrated Mr. Sato’s victory, as well a love of sports and long tradition of manufacturing and innovation between the U.S. and Japan. Mr. Sato’s Indy500 car, the racing uniforms, the car engine, and even the bottle made famous in the yearly “drinking of the milk” ritual by that year’s winner, were on display.
