Robert Rapson to Represent the U.S. at the 2016 Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony

Chargé d’Affaires Robert Rapson will represent the United States of America at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony, the site of President Obama’s historic visit in May, the first by a sitting U.S. president.

August 6 and 9 remain days for somber reflection and a renewed commitment to building a more peaceful world.

While Ambassador Caroline Kennedy is unable to attend the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony, she wishes to express her thanks to the people of Hiroshima for the invitation and for welcoming President Obama so warmly this May.
