In Memoriam: Diplomatic Couriers who Made the Ultimate Sacrifice

Monday is the Memorial Day holiday when the U.S. honors public servants who died in the line of duty. This year the State Department remembers the extraordinary heroism of our Diplomatic Courier Service, which is also celebrating its centennial in 2018.

The State Department’s fallen couriers are listed among the more than 140 people on the Diplomatic Security Memorial who have given their lives while protecting U.S. diplomacy.
