The visit was aimed at coordinating efforts to maintain operational readiness and credible deterrence to ensure a free and open Indo-Pacific. During his visit, Gen. Berger met with Prime Minister Suga, Foreign Minister Motegi, Defense Minister Kishi, and senior military officers.
