			American View Online Magazine

“American View” is the official magazine of the Embassy of the United States in Tokyo. American View was established in 2006 as a way for the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Japan to communicate with the Japanese public. We aim to provide a “view” of American culture and society, and also look at issues and events in the bilateral relationship of interest to our readers.

Throughout the years, we’ve focused on a wide range of themes, including people-to-people exchanges between Japan and the United States, women’s empowerment , travel and tourism, and the U.S.-Japan Security Alliance. In American View, you can expect to see thought-provoking articles, videos of events and performances, interviews, fun facts about the U.S., and stunning photography. The opinions expressed in the articles do not necessarily reflect the views or policies of the U.S. government.

Since many of our readers are hoping to improve their English skills, we offer both Japanese and English versions of most articles and occasional short explanations of English terms and buzzwords.

We hope you’ll enjoy browsing through the website and reading some of the in-depth articles offered here.
