Secretary Blinken Promotes Indo-Pacific Partnerships in Southeast Asia Visit
Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken visited Indonesia and Malaysia December 13-15. In Jakarta, the Secretary delivered remarks on the significance of the Indo-Pacific region and underscored the importance of the U.S.-Indonesia Strategic Partnership. In Malaysia, he worked to advance the U.S.-Malaysia partnership by addressing shared challenges, including COVID-19, building resilient supply chains, and ensuring a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
Secretary Blinken tweeted: “The Indo-Pacific is the fastest-growing region on the planet. What happens in this region in the 21st century will shape the trajectory of the world. That is why the United States will continue to play its stabilizing role in the Indo-Pacific.”
