Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker Brings Business Delegation to Japan and Korea

Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker leads a Healthcare and Energy Business Development Mission to Asia with stops in Japan and South Korea from October 19-23, 2014. This business development mission promotes U.S. exports to Asia by helping U.S. companies launch or increase their business in the healthcare and energy sectors.

Secretary Pritzker made a courtesy call on the Prime Minister Abe, Chief Cabinet Secretary Suga and Mr. Shiozaki, Minister of MHLW. The Secretary is supporting the efforts of the business delegation to move both countries economic relationship to next level. Secretary Pritzker also participated in several round table discussions with ACCJ, energy sector leaders, and health industry specialists. Secretary Pritzker gave a major policy speech at the American Chamber of Commerce luncheon, which was widely covered by the media. A welcome reception at the Ambassador’s residence attracted over 100 business executives and Ambassador Kennedy also led a high-powered womenonmics discussion with the secretary and Japanese women leaders. The Secretary’s mission will foster stronger business ties between the two countries as it will in the next stop–Seoul Korea.
