Immigrant Visa Appointment Request for Naha

Before requesting a final interview in Naha, please be sure that you have obtained all necessary documents requested in the instructional packet you received when completing step one. Be especially careful that you obtain the correct tax documents, and that you will have completed your medical exam at least two weeks prior to your interview.

You should expect to wait six weeks for an appointment. Ideally, your interview will take place a month or two before you plan to depart for the United States. Therefore, to avoid scheduling problems, you should request your interview 3 to 4 months before you wish to enter the U.S.

To Request an Appointment

The form below is to be used to request or change the appointment for an immigrant visa final interview. The applicant for an immigrant visa must meet the following conditions:

  • Has and is able to present applicable documents listed in the Immigrant Visa Checklist
  • Will not give up a job or business, dispose of property or make non-refundable travel arrangements until visa issuance
  • Intends to apply for an immigrant visa on the appointment date

When your appointment request is received, you can expect to receive a response regarding your appointment date in five to fourteen working days. We will send your appointment notice by e-mail. If you do not receive a notice after 14 working days, please make an appointment request using this form again.

To Change an Appointment

If you need to change your appointment, please return to this page to request a different date. Indicate that you are changing an existing appointment in the “Remarks” box below. We will send a new appointment notice by email.

For Employment and Family-based Preference Immigrants

You DO NOT need to use this form to request an immigrant visa appointment if you are applying for an employment or family-based preference visa based on a petition filed in the United States.

The National Visa Center (NVC) will schedule an appointment on the monthly visa allotment basis. You will be informed of the date and time of your interview.

You may use the form below to request a change in your appointment date. Please note, however, that there is no reason to expect that a visa allocation will be available for you if your application is not processed to conclusion during the month of the originally scheduled visa interview.

Important: Please provide your case number exactly as shown on the prior notice of appointment.

We conduct Immigrant Visa interviews on Tuesdays and Thursdays excluding U.S. and Japanese holidays.
