U.S. Mission Japan Chargé Reads Celebratory Message from U.S. Vice President Michael R. Pence at 100th Anniversary of the America-Japan Society

U.S. Mission Japan Chargé d’Affaires ad interim Jason Hyland delivered remarks at the 100th anniversary gala of the America-Japan Society (AJS) at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo on April 13. Their Imperial Majesties, Prime Minister Abe, Foreign Minister Kishida, and 500 other key supporters of the U.S.-Japan relationship attended the event to mark this important milestone in the history of the America-Japan Society, which has played an indispensable role in strengthening ties between our nations. Chargé Hyland noted that grassroots organizations like AJS are essential for establishing the “… strong personal connections at the core of our bilateral relationship.” He recognized the important role of AJS in preserving our partnership for the next generation. To mark this special occasion, the Chargé read a congratulatory message from United States Vice President Michael R. Pence, in which he commended the association for its many accomplishments in bringing America and Japan closer together.
