Vice President Wraps up Busy, Successful Visit to Japan

On the second day of their trip to Japan, Vice President Pence, Second Lady Karen Pence, and their daughters Charlotte and Audrey visited the USS Ronald Reagan, where the Vice President thanked the U.S. and Japanese service members who have “stood up and stepped forward to protect our countries, our values, and our very way of life.”

In the afternoon, Vice President Pence spoke to members of the U.S.-Japan business community and was presented with the Mount Fuji Dialogue Global Leadership Award.

Mrs. Pence and her daughters experienced more Japanese culture with an ikebana lesson at Sogetsu Kaikan. Finally, they all met up in Setagaya to attend a youth baseball/softball clinic with American and Japanese athletes, where Vice President Pence signed baseballs and offered words of encouragement for the young ballplayers.
