Location: Japan

Typhoon Mawar (台風2号) continues to track towards Okinawa Prefecture and the greater Kyushu area. The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) has issued advisories and warned of the likelihood of hazardous conditions including rough seas, high tides, violent winds, landslides and torrential rain. The JMA notes the typhoon’s slow movement, indicating the potential of extended or prolonged storm-related weather conditions. While Typhoon Mawar will weaken as it approaches the Japanese coastline, rain across Japan is likely all week.
